The aim of this Programme is "to promote joint study and
communication among students and teachers in several European Jurisdictions
with the aim of increasing mutual understanding, awareness and tolerance in
the youth of contemporary Europe"
This programme is about working co-operatively with linked partners throughout Europe. Each school is linked to a cluster of schools, one of which must be in Northern Ireland. Mt. St. Michael is a partner in Cluster numbers 22 and 27. Schools within each cluster negotiate an Agreement to exchange material and collaborate on projects. Email is the primary means of communication.
There are 3 core phases of activity in the Programme:
We introduced the European Studies Programme in 1994 when we joined Group 14. We joined Group 28 in 2001. We regrouped in 2003 and are now partners in Groups 22 and 27.
