Aoife McDonagh (TY) and Sarah Commons (L.C) were finalists in the Co. Sligo Junior Chef Competition held in St. Angelas College Sligo. The girls prepared a three course meal in one hour and thirty minutes and both girls were awarded silver medals.

 

Congratulations to Laura Crean who was the overall winner of the Junior Maths Regional Final which was held recently. Other finalists from Mount St. Michael were Bisoye Aramide, Dearbhaile Roe, Kate Brady and Shauna Dixon. Well done girls.

Tag Rugby Stars

Well done to our fantastic teachers Tag Rugby team who had a decisive victory against our Leaving Cert team yesterday. All those months of early morning workouts and team training certainly paid off when the teachers with quiet determination and the help of Fr. Mike defeated the leaving Certs!

First Year Sandwich Making Competition

Congratulations to all those who competed in this competition, especially to our 9 finalists who had to serve a sandwich in twenty minutes. The end product was judged by a panal of teachers. The winners were

Best Taste: Tianna Maher

Shave for Serve

Congratulations to T.Y 1 for organising a Shave for Charity event in the school. The victim was Fr. Mike! This was a fundraising event to raise money for a group who includes three past pupils of our school, who are travelling to the Phillipines as volunteers , to work with Serve this summer. T.Y.1 have already raised over 2,000 euro . The group aim to raise 60,000 euro which will be used in various projects eg house building in the Phillipines. Our past pupils who will travel with Serve are Aisling Bell, Michelle Murphy and Rachael Tierney. Well done to our Transition Years and of course to our beloved Fr. Mike!

Agreed report of B.O.M April 2012

Well done to our First Year's who took on the might of St. Coleman's First Year Boys in a football match to raise funds for "Cancer Care West". Thank's to all involved, both girls and boys.

 

Congratulations to Eadaoin Ni Mhaicin, who recently won "Hostess of the Year" at the National Youth Awards held in the Lyrath Hotel in Kilkenny. Eadaoin was presented with the Jo Hannon Perpetual Trophy.

Congratulations to Shania McDonagh for her fantastic win in the Tesco Art Competition. Shania won 1st place in her category  for the third year in a row and appeared on the Late Late Show last week. Her winning entry was titled "Jack".

High Speed Broadband
The Department of Education and Skills have announced an investment in high speed broadband and our school is one of those prioritised for the first roll out. It is expected to be installed by the end of the year.

Maths Challenge
